About NFL Street 2

NFL Street 2 is the 2004 sequel to EA Sports BIG's hit arcade football title, released for the PlayStation 2 (PS2), Xbox, and GameCube (GCN). The game's biggest innovation is the introduction of "Wall Moves," which allow players to run up or jump off walls to evade defenders, make acrobatic catches, or reach specialized "Hotspots" for massive style point bonuses. The Gamebreaker system was also expanded to include Level 2 Gamebreakers—cinematic, unstoppable plays that practically guarantee a touchdown or a turnover. This entry features several new modes, most notably "Own the City," where you create a custom player and recruit a crew to take over the streetball scene in Bay City, as well as unique minigames like Crush the Carrier and Jump Ball Challenge.

Performance remains high across all platforms, though specific features create a different experience on each. The Xbox version is the technical leader, supporting 480p progressive scan and in-game Dolby Digital audio, while also featuring better texture quality and custom soundtrack support. The GameCube version likewise supports 480p and offers the fastest loading times, though it lacks the "Behind the Scenes" featurettes found on the other discs and has slightly more compressed audio. The PlayStation 2 version was the only one to feature online play at launch, making it the hub for the competitive community. While the Xbox and GCN versions are preferred by videophiles for their crispness, the PS2’s online longevity and DualShock 2 controller layout made it the most popular way to play. Whether you are launching off a wall for a jump-ball in the park or triggering a Gamebreaker 2 to seal a win, NFL Street 2 is widely regarded as the most feature-complete entry in the series.
