About Mario Party 7

Mario Party 7 is a 2005 board game title developed by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo GameCube (GCN / NGC). Set on a global cruise hosted by Toadsworth, the game introduces "Bowser Time," a recurring event every five turns where Bowser appears to disrupt the board by destroying bridges, stealing stars, or forcing players to buy useless items from his own shop. The roster includes newcomers Dry Bones and Birdo, and the character-specific Orb system is expanded, giving each pair of characters a unique ability—such as Mario and Luigi’s Fireball Orb for stealing coins or Yoshi and Birdo’s Egg Orb for consuming traps.

On the GameCube hardware, the game is notable for its 8-player mode, which allows eight participants to compete by sharing four controllers. In this setup, one player uses the Control Stick and L button while their partner uses the C-Stick and R button. The Microphone peripheral returns with twice as many dedicated mini-games as the previous entry, though players can still use the R button to input voice commands manually. The hardware supports 480p progressive scan and handles unique board mechanics like the star-stealing Chain Chomps in Pyramid Park or the windmill investment system in Windmillville. Whether you are splitting a controller for 8-player chaos or avoiding a Bowser Time penalty, Mario Party 7 focuses on high-capacity multiplayer and board-specific objectives.
