Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969 transports the top-down criminal chaos to the swinging sixties. Acting as a standalone expansion for the original Grand Theft Auto, it replaces Liberty City with the smoggy streets of London. Players work for various Cockney crime bosses, navigating iconic British locations while driving legendary vehicles like the "Mavis" and the "James" (a nod to Bond's Aston Martin). On PC and PSX, the game maintained the brutal difficulty and score-based progression of the original but added a unique British flavor, complete with era-specific slang, mod culture, and a rock-and-roll soundtrack that perfectly captured the 1960s aesthetic.
