Grand Theft Auto 2
Grand Theft Auto 2 takes the top-down carnage into the near-future metropolis of Anywhere City. The game is divided into three districts: Commercial, Residential, and Industrial, each controlled by powerful rival factions like the Zaibatsu Corporation, the Looneys, and the Scientists. On PC and Dreamcast, the game featured a "lighting" toggle, allowing players to choose between the bright "Noon" mode or the atmospheric "Dusk" mode. The PlayStation (PSX) version delivered the definitive console experience of the era, while the Game Boy Color port offered a simplified but impressive handheld version of the gang-warfare mechanics.
