Battlefield 2142

Released in 2006, Battlefield 2142 depicts a global ice age where the European Union (EU) and the Pan-Asian Coalition (PAC) fight for the remaining habitable land. On PC and Mac, the game introduced futuristic technology like active camouflage for Recons, sentry turrets for Support, and walk-on Mechs (Battlewalkers). The classes were streamlined from seven down to four (Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon), each featuring branching unlock paths. While Conquest remained a staple, the new Titan Mode added a multi-stage objective: capture missile silos to drop the shields of a massive floating warship, then board it via transport or assault pods to destroy it from within.
