007: The World Is Not Enough

Released in 2000, The World Is Not Enough is a unique title in the Bond library because it essentially exists as two different games under one name. The Nintendo 64 version, developed by Eurocom, is hailed as the true spiritual successor to GoldenEye, featuring a robust 4-player multiplayer mode with AI bots and high-tech gadgets like X-ray glasses and grappling hooks. The PlayStation (PSX) version, handled by Black Ops Entertainment, is a more linear, cinematic affair that utilizes full-motion video clips from the film and focuses heavily on scripted action and a high difficulty curve. While versions for the PC and PS2 were heavily promoted and built on the Quake III engine, they were eventually cancelled and evolved into what we now know as 007: Agent Under Fire.
