About The Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt
The Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (widely recognized by fans as Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, Addams Family 2, or simply Pugsley's Hunt) is a challenging side-scrolling platformer based on the popular 1990s animated series. Released for the Super Nintendo (SNES/Super Famicom), Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and the handheld Game Boy (GB), the game puts players in control of Pugsley Addams as he explores the trap-filled Addams mansion to recover six bizarre items hidden by his sister, Wednesday.
The gameplay experience varies significantly between Nintendo consoles. On the Super Nintendo (SNES), the game features vibrant, parallax-scrolling graphics and a non-linear hub-world where you can tackle rooms in any order. Conversely, the versions for the NES and the portable Game Boy are actually unique "re-skins" of the original Addams Family game engine, featuring different level layouts and a more traditional linear progression. Regardless of the platform, the game is notorious among retro Nintendo fans for its high difficulty and "slippery" physics, requiring precise jumps to avoid the mansion's many supernatural hazards. Whether you are battling a giant octopus in the bathroom or navigating the dangerous attic, Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt remains a colorful, "ooky" staple of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras.
